MotorCity Socials opened its doors in March of 1998 in the ballroom of the then Quality Inn at 9 mile and I-75.

At the time, Helen and I had been in the swingers lifestyle for six years and while we enjoyed attending the various off-premise swinger events around SE Michigan, they were all based in rented halls where the parties had to end or move on at 1 AM. We really preferred the idea of a party location where one could party until dawn and not have any worries about drinking and driving. With the goal of hosting only hotel based swinger events, we began MotorCity Socials.

MotorCity was not only the first hotel based lifestyle group in SE Michigan, but we were also the first totally internet based group as well. As the net grew so did MotorCitys swingers membership and reputation. Since 1998 we have hosted nearly 250 lifestyle events and have a membership base of over 3,000 swingers.

Beginning in 2004 our club switched over to being a members only swingers club. While MotorCity had always been a couples only club, attendance was open to any couple that chose to attend. As the Lifestyle grew with the internet, we noticed that more and more couples with only a passing interest in the lifestyle were coming out. Although this was good for revenue, we found that couples that were truly interested in swinging were finding it harder and harder to find couples that were more than voyeurs. The influx of new people also created concerns about privacy for our existing swinger poplulation.

Today, MotorCity Socials is 100% members only exclusively for swingers. We know all of the couples in attendance and they are all actively looking for new friends in the Lifestyle. While there are currently nearly 20 swinger clubs in the SE Michigan area, MotorCity is one of only two swingers clubs that can claim the distinction of being a discreet group of couples truly interested in the lifestyle. And, we are the only one based in a hotel!
